April 2008
The POS-partner April 2008 upgrade (6.2.13) is now available for download. The upgrade will include the following:
- Provide capability to back up and purge event audit at 30 days instead of 90 days
- A fix for the Hypercom uploading MasterCard MOTO transactions to POS-partner receiving rejected batch
October 2007
The POS-partner October 2007 upgrade (6.2.11) is now available for download. The upgrade will include the following:
- The Cust Ref Id field on the transaction forms will be moved to the left and the length will be increased to fit more data. If the card type is MasterCard then the data length will be set to 25, all other card types will set the data length to 17
- All the information from the August 2007 upgrade
- Support to upload POS-partner from the newest Hypercom RR/DRR application that was released November 13, 2007
August 2007
The POS-partner August 2007 upgrade is now available for download. The upgrade will include the following:
- Enhancements have been made to allow for the expansion of data for AMEX CPS Level II purchases
- Level III is now available within POS-partner
- The capability has been added to enter CVV values for Retail and Restaurant on card present transactions that are manually entered.
May 2007
The POS-partner 6.2 upgrade is now available for download. The upgrade will include the following:
- Support for MasterCard Secure Code Phone Order
- Sunset of AMEX Split Dial functionality
- Removal of Amex Level II for Restaurant Industry
- Adding Invoice number to API credits
- Add message to ‘Void’ option
December 2006
The POS-partner 6.1 upgrade is now available for download. The upgrade will include some enhancements to the following:
- Security
- Account number visibility
- Audit log
- Restaurant tip overage
- Compliance
- American Express and Discover CID
- American Express Level 2
- CVV and CID support
- China UnionPay card acceptance
- Electronic Commerce Recurring Payments with UCAF

System Impacted: SSL Gateway
Start Time: Tuesday, September 12, 2006
End Time: Thursday, October 5, 2006
Beginning on Tuesday, September 12, 2006, TSYS Acquiring Solutions will begin the process of enhancing our SSL Gateways. This is routine technology maintenance that typically does not require notification.
In this case, we identified that the POS-partner merchants who did not complete the mandatory upgrade to POS-partner version 5.3 or higher, as sent on September 28, 2005, and are operating on a version prior to 5.2 will be impacted. These merchants will no longer be able to authorize and settle transactions once this SSL Gateway upgrade is complete.
The initial impact may be intermittent transaction failure which will gradually increase to full failure over the course of the upgrade period. To avoid transaction failure the impacted merchants will need to upgrade their version of POS Partner. Please visit the Download Center and the System Requirements page for more information.
May 2006
Effective July 1, 2006, Vital Processing Services® (Vital®) will end support of POS-partner 2000 on the following operating systems:
- Windows 98®
- Windows NT®
- Windows Millennium® (Me)
This operating system support discontinuation aligns with the Microsoft® Lifecycle Policy and their announcement to discontinue support of these operating systems on June 30, 2006. Microsoft is retiring support for these products because they are outdated and can expose customers to security risks.
Merchants who wish to continue using POS-partner 2000 should ensure they are running on the supported Windows 2000® or Windows XP® operating system.

April 17, 2006 -- Vital Processing Services® (Vital®), a leading provider of solutions and services to the acquiring industry, announced today the re-branding of the company as TSYS Acquiring SolutionsSM.
Last year TSYS purchased the remaining 50 percent equity stake that Visa U.S.A. held in Vital Processing Services, and Vital became a wholly owned TSYS subsidiary.
Throughout this quarter and the next, our company will complete the re-branding work necessary to transition to our new corporate name and identity. Changes will be made to this web site throughout the transition period.
January 2006
The January 2006 hot fix update is now available for download. The update will include
some enhancements to the following:
- Security indicator
- Bill payment transactions
- Utility company payments

** XP Users **
All installs of POS-partner on Windows XP must be new installs of
POS-partner version 5.2. Upgrades from older versions will not be
supported. Additionally, database restorations from non-XP installations
to XP installations will not be supported.
**POS-partner and SQL Server 7.0**
If a Database Server or Stand-alone installation of POS-partner is
attempted on a machine that is already running SQL Server 7.0, the
installation will abort.
